Research officers will fall into one of the following functional classifications: OA (One Arm), OL (One Leg), BL (Both Legs), OAL (One Arm & One Leg), SD (Spinal Deformity), SI (Spinal Injury), B (Blind), LV (Low Vision), and HH (Hearing Impaired). They will also need to be able to sit, walk, manipulate their fingers, read and write, and communicate.

Five of the previously listed Group “A” posts are open to persons with disabilities (PWD): two posts for multiple disabilities, one RO (Pathology) post for blind and low vision, four RO (Ayurvedic) posts, and one each for blind and low vision and deaf and hard of hearing.

CONCESSIONS/RELAXATIONS:

Candidates applying for any of the Group “A,” “B,” and “C” positions who are female and fall under one of the following categories are excused from paying the examination fee: SC, ST, PWD, EWS, or Ex-Serviceman. However, as stated in Paragraph 5.1 of the advertisement, all candidates—including those who fall under the exempted categories—must pay the non-refundable processing fee.

According to Government of India directives, positions are reserved for members of the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Other Backward Castes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD), and Ex-Servicemen.

Accordingly, the maximum age restriction can be lowered by five years for SC and ST candidates, three years for OBC-NCL candidates, ten years for PWD (UR), thirteen years for PWD (OBC-NCL), and fifteen years for PWD (SC/ST) candidates.

In order to substantiate their claim, candidates from the reserved category must present an original caste certificate in the format specified by the Government of India, which must be given by the appropriate body at the time of document verification.

Candidates from reserved groups may only be eligible for the age relaxation if there are openings designated for them. Candidates from the reserved category who apply for an unreserved position are not eligible for age relaxation. Regardless of whether the post or posts are reserved for people with disabilities or not, applicants who fall within the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD) category are entitled to age relaxation as permitted by law.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

An online computer-based test (CBT) and interview will be used to select candidates for all Group “A” positions. The interview will be worth thirty marks, and the CBT will be worth seventy. Selection for all other Group “B” and Group “C” positions will be made solely based on performance in a 100-mark online CBT. Each post’s examination plan, mark distribution, and subjects from which probable questions will be derived are listed separately in paragraph 4.7 below.

There would be a minimum cutoff percentage of marks in the online CBT based on the minimum norms. Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and those with disabilities must receive at least 25% of the possible points to qualify for the CBT. However, in order to qualify for the CBT, all other groups of people, including Unreserved, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, etc., must receive at least 30% of the possible points. Any applicant who receives more points than the minimum amount needed, however, will not be given consideration for the position. The ultimate selection process will be based on the candidates’ total merit or rank, with the order of candidates in their category being determined by the number of vacancies in their discipline and category.
