In order to address fundamental and applied biological and biomedical research questions about infectious and non-infectious diseases that are pertinent to this country and the global community, the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, is a leading institution under the auspices of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). It produces state-of-the-art knowledge and highly qualified human resources in the fields of chemical biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genomics, epigenomics, structural biology, bioinformatics, and medicinal chemistry.
Candidates must assist the General Administration, Stores & Purchase, Finance, and Accounts departments in addition to any other official responsibilities as delegated. Regarding the role of Junior Stenographer: to help with typing, stenography, secretarial work, and other official duties as required.
Terms & Conditions:
(a) The positions carry the standard benefits provided to Central Government employees and relevant to CSIR, such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), etc. Depending on availability, council personnel may also be eligible for accommodations of the entitled kind under the CSIR home allocation criteria; in this instance, HRA will not be admissible.
(a) In addition to the salaries listed for each type of position, Council employees are eligible for benefits including medical expenditure reimbursement, leave travel concessions, house building advances, etc.
(c) As indicated by the Indian government and authorized by CSIR in their letter number 17/68/2001-E.II, dated December 23, 2003, along with other directives on the issue, the posts will be subject to the New Pension System, which will go into effect on January 1, 2004. Individuals selected from other government departments, autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, and central universities that have a pension scheme based on the Government of India model will still be subject to the current pension scheme, namely the CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021, provided they apply through the proper channel as specified by the regulations.
General Conditions and information:
(a) The candidate needs to be an Indian citizen.
(b) All candidates must meet the job’s prerequisites as well as any additional requirements listed in the advertisement. Before applying, applicants are urged to confirm that they meet the minimum requirements listed for the positions as of the online application deadline. No inquiries seeking eligibility guidance will be considered. The final result should have been announced on or before the last day of online application receipt, and the required educational credentials should have been earned from a university, institution, or board that is recognized by the Government of India or authorized by government regulatory bodies.
(c) A candidate does not automatically qualify for a written test, proficiency/skill test, or appointment if they just meet the minimal requirements for education and experience. A candidate’s candidature will be immediately and summarily canceled if it is discovered, either before or after the selection process, that they do not meet any of the qualifying requirements.
(d) Candidates employed by government departments must present a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer during the document verification process; otherwise, their application will not be taken into consideration. We will notify you when these documents need to be verified. Such applicants must, however, attest in the relevant section of the online application that they have notified their employer of their application in response to the advertisement.
Instructions to the Candidates:
The candidate can access the window for downloading the call letter after clicking the appropriate link. To download the call letter, the candidate must enter
(i) their registration number or roll number and
(ii) their password or date of birth. The applicant needs to bring (i) the letter of call,
(ii) the photo identity proof specified in the clause below, as well as a photocopy of the same photo identity proof that was brought in original form, and (iii) a recent, recognizable photo, preferably the same one that was provided during registration, at the examination center.
Candidates will not be allowed to take the exam if they arrive late, that is, after the time indicated on the call letter. The call letter’s stated reporting time is earlier than the test’s start time.
The invigilator should be presented with the call letter and the original of the candidate’s currently valid photo identification in the examination hall. This includes the candidate’s PAN card, passport, permanent driver’s license, voter’s card, bank passbook, and photo identification proof issued by a Gazzetted Officer on official letterhead, a People’s Representative on official letterhead, a valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized college or university, an Aadhar card, an Employee ID, or a Bar Council Identity Card with a photograph. The candidate’s identification will be confirmed in the Attendance List based on the information provided on the call letter.
Note:
During the exam, candidates must present their original picture identification evidence and examination call letter; otherwise, they will not be permitted to take the test. Candidates should be aware that the name on the photo identity proof and the name on the call letter (which was given during the registration procedure) must match exactly. Candidates who are female and have changed their first, last, or middle name after getting married should pay particular attention to this. The candidate will not be permitted to take the test if their name on the call letter and their photo identification proof do not match. Candidates who have changed their name will only be accepted if they can provide the original Gazette notice, their original marriage certificate, or an original affidavit.
No interim inquiry or correspondence in this regard will be entertained from any individual or his/her agency. The CSIR-IICB’s competent authority will make the final and binding decision on all issues related to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of written tests/interviews, and whether to fill all or any of the posts.
Candidates will only be approved provisionally because the CSIR-IICB will not thoroughly review applications for eligibility and other factors during the written exam. Applicants must review the prerequisites and confirm their eligibility for the position or positions, the records, and certificates attesting to their caste, category, and educational background.
