Introduction:
The largest hydropower development company in India, NHPC Limited, is equipped to handle every step of the process, from project conception to commissioning. Additionally, NHPC has expanded into other areas, such as the development of solar and wind energy. In accordance with the Companies Act of 1956, NHPC Ltd. (formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd.) was established in 1975.
Through conventional and non-conventional sources in India and outside, the corporation is tasked with planning, promoting, and organizing an integrated and efficient growth of power in all its aspects.
After successfully completing its initial public offering (IPO) in 2009, NHPC is now listed on both the NSE and the BSE.
Essential Qualification & Experience:
Hindi master’s degree from an accredited Indian university with English as a degree-level elective or English master’s degree from an accredited Indian university with Hindi as a degree-level elective.
For a Master’s degree, the candidate must have earned at least 60% of the possible points for General, OBC, and EWS, and 50% for SC, ST, and PwBD.
Three years of post-qualification work experience as of the application deadline in the appropriate field in any PSU or Central or State Government Department, with at least two years of experience earning between $27,000 and $1,05,000 (IDA) or an equivalent salary.
The candidate should have experience teaching, researching, or writing in any Central, State, or PSU, as well as using or applying terminology (terminological work) in Hindi and/or translating from English to Hindi and vice versa, preferably in technical or scientific literature. An additional benefit would be specialization or research in the pertinent field.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

STEPS FOR APPLYING:
Step 1: Apply online by visiting www.nhpcindia.com and using the gateway found in the “Career” section of our website. In order to receive any subsequent notifications, the candidate must have a working email address and a mobile number that remain active during the application process.
Step 2: Before applying, make sure you are eligible by reading all the guidelines on the website.
Step 3: Provide pertinent information on the online application form and submit it. Following a successful application submission, the system will generate an application ID, which will be stored and utilized for future correspondence.
Step 4: Before registering online for an attachment, the candidate should have scanned copies of the following documents on hand:
- A certificate of matriculation or secondary education used as proof of birthdate.
- A full set of certifications and mark sheets attesting to the candidate’s qualifications.
- A caste certificate in the format that the Indian government specifies. OBC candidates should have received their community certificate no later than six months prior to the registration date.
- If applicable, a disability certificate from the Competent Authority
Step 5: Follow the directions on the online application gateway to upload your most recent photo and signature.
Step 6: Print a copy of the system-generated registration form with your unique application ID for your records.
RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
- Reservations would be made in accordance with government norms and directives for SC, ST, OBC (non-cremy layer), and PwBD (degree of disability 40% or higher). Economically Weaker Section (EWS) vacancies are determined by government regulations and are contingent upon the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s ultimate ruling.
- Candidates in the OBC category who fall within the “CREAMY LAYER” category are not eligible for the OBC concession; instead, they must specify “General” as their category. At the time of the subsequent selection process, if required, candidates from the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must present the necessary certificate (latest version) in the format specified by the Competent Authority, as mandated by the Government of India. Within six months of the online application closing date, the certificate must be issued.
- The upper age limit can be lowered by three years for OBC (non-creamy layer) and five years for SC/ST. PwBD-General candidates can relax it by ten years, PwBD-OCB (NonCreamy Layer) candidates can relax it by thirteen years, and PwBD-SC/ST candidates can relax it by fifteen years.
- For applicants who had their primary residence in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989, the upper age restriction is loosened by five years.
- Ex-servicemen’s age relaxation will follow government regulations.
- Applicants must have an income and asset certificate from a Competent Authority in order to be considered for a reservation under Gen-EWS. The candidate’s income and asset certificate submission deadline will be considered the online application’s closure date.
