According to the order of the Competent Authority dated 01.07.2025, Indian citizens who meet the specified qualifications and other eligibility requirements as of 01.07.2025 are encouraged to apply online to select qualified candidates for the creation of a panel that will fill the open positions in the following cadres in the Supreme Court of India Registry.
RELAXATION IN AGE:
According to the Government of India’s regulations, candidates who are members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Physically Challenged, Ex-Servicemen, or dependents of Freedom Fighters will be eligible for the usual age relaxation. The Supreme Court Registry’s departmental candidates will not have an upper age limit. However, candidates employed by other government departments, etc., will not be permitted to have their age relaxed.
SHORTLISTING CRITERIA:
- Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports: Depending on the number of openings, candidates who pass the written exam may be called for interviews in a 1:3 ratio.
- Candidates who pass the written exam may be called for a computer test in a 1:10 ratio to the number of openings, and those who pass both the written and computer tests may be called for an interview in a 1:3 ratio to the number of openings in the positions of Assistant Librarian, Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), and Supreme Court Museum.
RESERVATION:
The Rules, Orders, and Notifications periodically issued by the Government of India regarding posts carrying the pay scale prescribed for the positions of Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports; Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum; Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum; and Assistant Librarian shall make reservations in direct recruitment for candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Physically Challenged, Ex-servicemen, and dependents of Freedom Fighters, subject to any changes, variations, or exceptions that the Hon. Chief Justice of India may from time to time specify.
Registration of application and payment of fee:
In due time, qualified candidates will be able to apply online for each seat they intend to apply for separately via the URL provided on the Supreme Court website, www.sci.gov.in. Each position will only accept applications submitted through online registration. For each vacancy, aspirants must pay an application/test fee of Rs. 1500 (for General/OBC candidates) and Rs. 750 (for SC/ST/ex-servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependent of Freedom Fighters) in addition to bank fees online. Applications that are not signed will be summarily denied. Only the online method using the provided link will be accepted or received for this application. The UCO Bank payment site must be used to make the online payment. We will not take any other kind of payment.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Candidates applying for the aforementioned positions should make sure they meet the requirements for the position. Their admission to all examination phases—written, computer, and interview—will be strictly provisional, contingent upon meeting the specified eligibility requirements and providing documentary evidence to support them. At the time of the interview, all necessary documentation for the candidate’s eligibility for the position will be reviewed.
- Candidates should be aware that they must submit separate applications for each position.
- Only those candidates who pass the written exam, computer test (if included in the testing system), and interview will be considered for the advertised positions. Candidates should be aware that being placed on a panel does not give them the authority to be appointed to the positions that are being advertised.
- To submit the online application form, the candidate must follow the instructions on the website provided for that purpose and upload a scanned copy of their recent photo, signature, and other documents. Before submitting the online application, candidates should confirm that all of the information they have entered is accurate. Once filed, an application cannot be changed or withdrawn.
- The candidate will need to complete the application by entering the necessary information and paying the cost online by following the guidelines on the website provided.
