Eligibility Criteria:
- BE/B Tech/B Sc (Engineering)/5-year Integrated M Tech with at least 60% aggregate marks in one of the six engineering disciplines listed in the table below from an AICTE/UGC-accredited university/deemed university or institute.
- A minimum of 60% denotes the marks required by the different university ordinances.
- Applicants must have a valid GATE-2023, GATE-2024, or GATE-2025 score in the engineering discipline that corresponds to their qualifying degree.
Note:
Candidates with a qualifying degree in ‘Electrical’, ‘Electrical & Electronics’, ‘Electronics & Communication’, ‘Electronics and Controls’, or ‘Electronics & Telecommunication’ disciplines are eligible to apply for Electronics. However, such individuals must be eligible based on a legitimate GATE score in Electronics.
Candidates having a qualifying degree in ‘Instrumentation & Control are eligible to apply for Instrumentation. However, such individuals must be eligible based on a legitimate GATE score in Instrumentation.
Candidates with a qualifying degree in ‘Electrical & Electronics’ may apply under either discipline, Electrical or Electronics.
Candidates having a qualifying degree in ‘Electronics and Instrumentation’ may apply under either Instrumentation or Electronics. However, such individuals must have a legitimate GATE score in the discipline in which they want to be considered.
Training:
The selected candidates will be required to complete one year of orientation training at any of the Training Facilities listed below.
- Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Stream:
This stream requires one year of induction training at any of NPCIL’s Nuclear Training Centers (NTCs).
Light Water Reactor (LWR) Stream:
A candidate for this stream must complete one year of induction training at the Nuclear Training Centre (NTC), which is located at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) Site in Nagarcoil, Tamil Nadu.
iii. Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation disciplines will receive instruction in either the Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) or the Light Water Reactor (LWR) streams.
Candidates from these five fields must specify a preference for ‘Reactor Stream’ in the online application.
- Candidates of the Civil discipline are not required to select the ‘Reactor Stream’.
- The NPCIL reserves the right to vary the training stream, place, and duration.
