Introduction:

Indian nationals with the necessary educational background and appropriate job experience are encouraged to apply online for the following non-teaching roles at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai.

Since none of the candidates met the shortlisting requirements, the position designated for EWS was re-published after being advertised via IITM/R/4/2025 on April 16, 2025. The position will be filled as an unreserved position in the event that no EWS applicant is available. Candidates are therefore urged to apply for the position if they qualify for the general category (unreserved postings).

Before completing the applications and moving forward, candidates are advised to read the “INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES.” The Institute’s recruitment website offers the specified application form for interested and qualified individuals to use when submitting their online applications.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

  1. Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  2. Only online applications should be submitted via the Institute’s website, https://recruit.iitm.ac.in. The online application must be submitted before 05.30 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, final time. The Institute will not accept any correspondence requesting a concession in this regard, nor will it accept any delays resulting from whatever cause.
  3. Applicants should submit their online applications according to the guidelines. In accordance with the application’s instructions, candidates should only upload pertinent papers.
  4. You should upload the following documents as evidence of your schooling, birthdate, category (if applicable), experience certificate, etc.
  5. a) Certificates of education in chronological order, including Ph.D., UG, PG, SSLC, HSC, and diplomas. the grades for each year or semester in relation to the minimal level of education required for the position for which you are applying.
  6. b) A certificate of birth (issued by the municipality, etc.) or a certificate of matriculation or high school
  7. c) If appropriate, a valid category certificate (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, ex-servicemen, etc.).
  8. d) Experience certificates should be in chronological order and in the correct format, meaning they should be on the letterhead of the company and should include the date of issuance, name, title, length of employment, type of work, and signature of the company’s owner or administrative authority, along with their seal, allowing the candidate to apply for the position.
  9. e) The type of work done and experience gained in the position(s) and duration(s) should be explicitly stated in the experience certificate(s).
  10. g) The breakdown of gross remuneration, including pay, DA, HRA, and any other allowances, should be properly shown on salary certificates related to their experiences. Salary certificates with a combined sum from private businesses or parties will not be taken into account. Where necessary, these certificates should include a breakdown of the pay so that it may be compared to the government pay scales and pay listed for each position.
  11. h) Where necessary, a certificate of proficiency pertaining to desired requirements should be supplied.
  12. The stipulated credentials are minimum, and unless indicated, they are required for consideration for the post, even if the higher qualification has been attained, and the simple fact that a candidate holds the same will not enable him/her to be summoned for an interview.
  13. The applicant is solely responsible for making sure that all uploaded documents are readable and clear. Any illegible or unclear scans that the applicant uploads are not the Institute’s responsibility. Applications that are illegible and have incorrect, unclear, or unreadable scans will be immediately rejected.
  14. All degrees must only come from accredited institutions, universities, or boards.
  15. Only relevant experience obtained after obtaining the bare minimum required degree will be taken into account. Experience relevant to the advertised position is referred to as “relevant experience.” The screening/shortlisting committee’s decision regarding experience relevance will be final and legally binding.
