Relaxation & Exemption:
Age: The upper age restriction has been loosened by three years for OBC (NCL) candidates and five years for SC/ST candidates.
For those with a disability of 40% or more, the maximum age restriction is further loosened by 10 years, and for people who have normally lived in the state of Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 1989, it is loosened by 5 years.
For the additional three years of service in the armed forces, ex-servicemen are entitled to an age relaxation.
Qualification: Subject to the availability of such reserved posts, SC/ST applicants can go from first class with a minimum score of 60% to second class with an aggregate score of 50%.
Method of Selection:
The selection procedure will consist of two stages: a personal interview and a computer-based test (CBT).
CBT and in-person interviews have an 85:15 weighting. To be considered for selection, a candidate must receive at least 50% of the possible points in each selection factor and 60% overall.
SC/ST applicants will, however, be exempt from the performance requirements that apply to unreserved candidates. Such requirements may be loosened in the case of OBCs if qualified applicants are not readily available by the established standards. However, ECIL’s decision about the degree of relaxation will be final and enforceable against the candidates.
All qualified applicants will be contacted for the CBT; however, based on their performance in the CBT, candidates will be called in a 1:4 ratio for the personal interview.
The candidate with the highest score in the Eligible Qualification will be invited for an interview if multiple candidates have identical scores on the CBT.
Computer-Based Test (CBT):
The following cities will host CBT sessions. When the candidate submits their online application, they have the option to choose the city for CBT. However, ECIL will have the last say over which city is used for CBT, and requests to switch CBT centers will never be considered.
Each incorrect response will result in 0.25 points deducted. The question paper will only be available in Hindi and English. However, the English version of the question will be accepted if there are any errors or variations in Hindi.
Objective-style questions drawn from the fundamental engineering topics that applicants have studied for their individual engineering specializations or fields will make up the majority of the computer-based test’s syllabus.
To attend CBT, candidates must bring their hall ticket, proof of government identification (such as an Aadhar card, PAN, voter ID, driver’s license, etc.), and, if necessary, their application fee receipt.
Document Verification process for Personal Interview:
